This list includes some of the best basketball players to ever play the game. There are only two active players in the list and LeBron James is one of them.

    1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tops the list of NBA all time leading scorer with 38,387 points, accumulated over a span of 20 years. No one seems likely to be surpassing such a massive career score in near future.

    2. Karl Malone

Karl Malone made 36,928 points in his entire career which takes him to the second spot in terms of scoring leaders in NBA. There is no championship in his name but still he is regarded as one of the great player in NBA history.

    3. Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant scored 33,643 points and achieved many scoring records in his career. He became the leading scorer during the 2005-6 and 2006-7 seasons and also made 81 points in a single game, setting the record of most points in a single game after the Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points

    3. Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan scored a total of 32,292 points in his career, with an average 30.1 per game. He topped the NBA scoring for 10 seasons. If he had not retired from the basketball twice, he might have scored more points than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and probably led the list of all time points scorer.

    4. Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain piled up to 31,419 points in 1,045 games. He averaged 30.1 points per game, which is similar to the career average of Michael Jordan. He was the only player in NBA history who averaged more than 50 points in a season.

    6. Dirk Nowitzki

Over his 19-year career, Dirk Nowitzki has accumulated 30,260 points. He is the only sixth player to reach 30,000 point mark.

    7. LeBron James

As of now, LeBron James has produced 28,787 points in his career. LeBron has averaged more than 27 points per game throughout his career. If he continues the same way for the next few years, he would become  leading scorer in the history of NBA.
