Kobe Bryant might not be the greatest player of all time but undoubtedly, he is one of the best players to ever play in NBA. Throughout his illustrious career, he has carved his name into record books many times. Let’s have a look at some of his most incredible records.

    1. 81 points in a game

On January 22, 2006, Kobe Bryant put up a staggering 81 points against Toronto Raptors, with 55 points coming from the second half of the game. This was the second highest point total by a player in a single NBA game (behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points).

    2. Youngest to win slam dunk contest

During his rookie season, Kobe Bryant participated and won the Slam Dunk Contest. He was just 18 years old at that time which makes him the youngest ever to win that Contest.

    3. Nine game streak of at least 40 points

Kobe Bryant had a nine game streak of at least 40 points from February 6th to February 23rd, 2003. Besides Kobe Bryant, only Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan had such kind of point streaks.

Kobe Bryant also holds the record for most All- Star game selections and appearances. He has been voted to a record 15 consecutive All-Star game as a starter while he appeared in 14 games (missed 2010 NBA All-Star).  On the top of that, he also won 4 all star MVP awards, a record which he shares with Bob Pettit.

    5. Career Scoring

Kobe Bryant is known as a prolific scorer. He is currently ranked fifth in all time leading scorers with a career average of 25.5 points per game. If he stays fit and healthy and continues to score with this average in the next few seasons, then he might find himself atop scoring leaders list.

    6. Most 3-pointers in single game

On January 7, 2003, Kobe Bryant shoot 12 three pointers in a game against Seattle SuperSonics which is the most by any NBA player in a single game. The record was later tied by Donyell Marshall in 2005.

    7. Best Player in Lakers outfit

Although Lakers history is filled with many great names such as Jerry West, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal but statistically Kobe Bryant is the best player in Lakers Uniform. Besides playing most seasons and games for the Lakers, he leads the franchise in many statistical categories. He is Lakers all time leaders in points on both regular season and playoffs, steals, minutes played and turnovers.
