The National Basketball Association is no short of superstitious players. Many players do certain things which they believe affect their game in some way. For others, it might be a bizarre and crazy habit but  it’s a very serious matter for the player who does it. Amongest those superstitious players, few have more weird superstitions than others. In my view, following are the 6 most weird superstitions in NBA history.

    1. Jason Terry’s Bizarre Sleeping Habit

Many consider Jason Terry the biggest supertstitious player inthe history of NBA. There are a number of unique rituals he performs on game day. He eats chicken before every game, he wears five pairs of socks during every game and now the weirdest of all, he sleeps in shorts of the opponent team a night before the game. Seemingly, it’s a difficult task and i have no idea how he gets access to the opponents uniforms.

    2. Caron Butler’ s Straw Chewing

Caron Butler is yet another player known for his crazy quirks like chewing straws and gulpping down excessive amount of Moutain Dew soda. He used to chew straws because  it clams him down. It was the  sad moment for him when NBA stopped him from chewing straws and now he has to rely only on drinking soda bottles.

    3. Ray Allen’s Series of Pregame Rituals

Ray Allen follows a specific pre game routine from which he never deviates .The routine starts with a 1 and half hour nap, then he takes meal preciesly chicken and rice. He reaches arena three hours prior to the game. Another series of acts starts with the arrival like parking the vehicle at same slot, shaving head, taking showers etc. Then he enters the court exaclty on a specific time and goes through pre game warm up sessions.

    4. Mike Bibby’s Nails Clipping

Many people began to chew their nails unintentionally when they are in some kind of stress but Atlants Hawks Mike Bibby adopted a more sophisticated way, he clips his nail when he is anxious and on the bench. Still it look weird to clip your fingernails during a game.

    5. Michael Jordan’s North Carolina Shorts

Michael Jordan, arguably the best basketball player ever also believed in the superstition.  During his professional career, he used to wear North Carolina shorts under his NBA uniform as good luck charm (he is the graduate of North Carolina and helped his college team to win 1982 NCAA Championship) and to cover those shorts, he started to wear relatively longer shorts which became a trend eventually.

    6. LeBron James throws Chalks in the air

LeBron James has couple of  superstitions he follows regularly. He puts chalk in his hand and blow it up in the air before every game. He has also got the habit of nail biting and he is  frequenly seen biting his nails during the games.
