LeBron James has just created his own statistical category in NBA. On Tuesday night, Cavaliers star scored 31 points, racked up 12 rebounds and 11 assists in matchup with the Brooklyn Nets and become the first and only player in the league’s history to have at least 30,000 points, 8,000 rebounds and 8,000 assists. It was his 12 triple-double of this season and 67 of his career.

“With the long list of so many great players that have come through this league, in the history of this league, for me to be the only (person) in a category, I think it’s pretty cool. It’s pretty cool.” LeBron James said after the win over Nets.

February has turned out to be quite terrific for LeBron James. He averaged a triple-double throughout the month for the first time in his career and also finished February on high note as he carried his team to a 129-123 victory over the Nets.

LeBron James is only the fourth player in NBA to average a triple-double in a calendar month with at least five games played. Oscar Robertson, Welt Chamberlain and Russell Westbrook are the others to reach the milestone. LeBron is also the oldest ever to finish a month averaging a triple-double at 33 years, 59 days old.

“Scoring has always been last for me,” said James. “I’ve never looked at myself as a scorer. But to know the history of the game and seeing the guys that put up triple-doubles on a regular (basis) from Jason Kidd to Magic Johnson to Oscar Robertson to Russell Westbrook, you can throw my name in there as well.”

LeBron James is one of the best basketball players and probably the most versatile player the game has seen. He can play all five positions and has always been able to fill in spots where his team needs him the most. His recent stats are further proof of his capabilities.

“I always wanted to be labeled as just an all-around basketball player; and I get more gratification out of the assists more than anything, because to get my guys great looks or they’re knocking down shots, that means a lot to me.” James said.
