NBA commissioner David Stern cancelled the rest of the November schedule after NBA negotiations fall apart again on Friday over the division of the revenue. He also indicated that now a full 82-game season is out of reach.
The meeting between the owners and the players ended on a positive note as they will resume the discussions Thursday afternoon.
The marathon NBA negotiations ended without making any significant progress towards a new labor deal.
NBA commissioner David Stern believes further cancellations are coming. He indicated that the regular season games on Christmas may be canceled if there is no labor agreement by Tuesday.
The first two weeks of the NBA regular season have been canceled as the labor deal issue remained unresolved between the owners and the players union.
San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker has signed a contract with French club ASVEL Villeurbanne and he will be going to play in France during the NBA lockout. He will get a mere $1,995 per month for his services which is nothing in comparison to his $1 million per month salary with the NBA.
Players and owners failed to end a three months stretched lockout despite having a number of meetings. As a result, remaining 114 preseason games have been called off and there is a threat that the first two weeks of the regular season will also be canceled,
